Ishtar began as a massage therapist 30 years ago and has consciously dedicated her life to understanding the languages and textures of the body ever since.
Studied and practised many health/healing modalities, as well as many movement practises; martial arts, dance, somatic training and adventure sports: (rock climbing, white water kayaking and cycle touring etc), as well as transpersonal counselling and meditation.
Before becoming an Osteopath 13 years ago Ishtar instructed Qi gong and meditation classes, rock climbing and white water rafting and ran regular dance sessions.
Now, while bringing pain relief, Ishtar will kindly teach you about the nature of your pain, your anatomy and how to work with your body for long term well-being. She uses a wide range of structural (ie massage and manipulation) and functional (ie cranial and ligamentous) techniques to treat the various injuries and illnesses she sees in practice, as well as integrating exercise rehabilitation, somatic movement practises and lifestyle awareness.
Ishtar personally benefits from and is professionally guided by
the Osteopathic Principles:
The body is a unit - mind, body and nature
The body is capable of self-regulation, self healing and health maintenance.
Structure and function are reciprocally interrelated
